Dreamcatcher Balloons

Our balloon stands over 7 stories tall and holds 90,000 cubic feet of air.  That's over 70 feet!  The envelope is made of a rip-stop nylon which has been specially coated to retain the hot air as well as make it fire-resistant.  The basket, also referred to as a gondola, is made of traditional wicker.  This has been the standard construction for hundreds of years.  

The balloon is powered by two (2) 18-million BTU burners which are fueled by two (2) 15-gallon propane tanks.  The typical gas grill is rated at 45,000 BTUs.  This is roughly 400x hotter!  In other words, the BTU output from this balloon can produce enough heat to heat all the houses in your neighborhood!  

The DREAMCATCHER balloon can be seen floating over the Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky countryside year-around during the mornings and evenings. Dreamcatcher Balloons is owned and operated by Dreamcatcher Hot Air Balloon Team Ltd. and is piloted by Don Trapp.  Don is the chief Commercial Balloon Pilot and has been flying for over 5 years.
